Project Magazine (Submit): A Note From The Editor

In the early 2000’s I was living in Austin, TX buying and selling used books, records and magazines. One of my friends from college there is a good writer and community organizer. I floated the idea of a periodical with a one word title - - PROJECT (alternately SUBMIT). But I was very unpracticed at the art of pitching ideas.

Cut to 2024, I still think PROJECT is a great name for a magazine. I’m still unpracticed at pitching ideas. And here I am starting a new blog - - mostly about film projects but really regarding any kind of interesting project. Architecture projects. Urban planning projects. Painting projects. Craft projects. Writing projects. Photography projects. Sculpture. Installation art. Community service. Performance art. Linear Parks. Earthworks. Research. Development. Housing. Engineering. Music. Fulbright projects. You name it.

For my part, I’ll start with an attempt to interview Some of the filmmakers who screened short films last night at New Plaza Cinema’s regularly scheduled Shorts Screening curated by Michael Jacobsohn. These filmmakers include the following:

John Maslowski

Deborah Harse

Phil Buehler

Steve Siegel

Suzanne Andrews Correa

Mustafa Kaymak

Carol Bash

Lisa Melmed

Giorgio Citarella

Tau Bennett

T.A. Young

Dave Pentecost

Lyn Pentecost

Donald Gallagher
